About Highland Seam Roofing

What we are

We publish a metal roof estimator and a referral service for Asheville and Buncombe County. We are not a roofing contractor. We do not own trucks, brakes, or crews, and we install nothing.

Why the estimator exists

Roofing is priced per square — 100 square feet of roof surface — and homeowners think in floor area. That mismatch means most people cannot tell whether a quote is fair, high, or a different product entirely, and the industry has never had much incentive to fix it.

So we published the rates. They are on the home page whether you use the tool or not. The estimator adds your roof area and shape to them, and hands you a checklist that makes two quotes comparable.

It also tells some visitors to buy asphalt shingle instead, which is not what a roofing referral site is supposed to say. If you are selling in five years, that is the honest answer.

What happens to your details

If you check the consent box and submit the form, we email your name, contact details, property address, your three answers, and any notes to one roofing contractor serving your area. They call you directly.

  • We do not sell your details to a list of contractors.
  • We do not store your answers on this site.
  • We do not add you to a marketing list.
  • Nothing is passed on unless you check the box.

The privacy policy says the same thing at greater length.

How we are paid

The roofing contractor pays to receive inquiries from this site. You pay us nothing, and the referral does not change what they charge you. It does mean we have a commercial reason to want you to submit the form, which is a fair thing to know while reading anything else here.

What we cannot do

We cannot measure your roof from a web page, quote your job, tell you what is under your existing shingles, or promise a manufacturer’s warranty on someone else’s behalf. The estimator is arithmetic applied to three answers. A real number comes from someone on a ladder.

Getting it wrong

If the contractor we passed you to would not itemize the quote, pressured you to sign, or delivered something other than the gauge and finish they specified, tell us. We can stop sending them inquiries, which is the only real lever we have, and we would rather use it than keep the referral fee.

Know the number before the quote

Three questions give you a roof area in squares, an installed rate, and a price band — plus the checklist that makes two quotes comparable.
